Who are your favorite designers It seriously varies from season to season. These past few seasons I've really liked Frida Giannini (Gucci), Riccardo Tisci(Givenchy), Stefano Pilati (YSL) and Alexander McQueen. They have really shined to me.
What are your favorite stores? Wow, everywhere. I hate to limit myself because there are so many great stores out there. But at the top right now are Shopbop.com, Intermix, and Saks. Between those three place I can find just what I need.
Who are your personal style icons? Oh.....Katherine Hepburn is definitely a top for me. She dared to be different and wore pants even when it wasn't the "in" thing to do. She was one of the original trendsetters. Carine Roitfeld is another style icon for me. She has this sensuality to her style of dressing, its so chic. And last but not least is definitely Mary-Kate Olsen. Not to seem cliche but she really owns her own style. It's young, it's edgy, it's her and I like it.
What are your favorite new trends? I have really fallen in love with Dolce and Gabbana's fall 2008. So for fall I've gotten a lot of tweed and herringbone pieces. Including a few chunky oxford that I got from Saks.
Do you have any beauty tips? To be honest I have a very simple trick. I don't really wear makeup unless it's a r-e-a-l-l-y specially occasion. My suggestion is just to drink lots of water. It's so good for your skin plus it's so much healthier than other drinks. Another tip is to always use a SPF face lotion, to protect your skin from the sun.
Right now every girl needs___? stylish coat. With fall here, I think its a necessity for every girl to have a really amazing coat. If you're going to dress fashionable you can't just throw on that same old peacoat from last year. You have to let your coat look as good, if not better than your outfit. My suggestion is to find a good tweed or herringbone coat because textures and prints are so much more fashionable than the average plain black jacket.
Where are your favorite places to go out? I love sushi, its simply delicious. So my favorite places to go out is Sushi Samba, which is simply gorgeous and Tamarind which has the most amazing and freshest sushi. If you're in Chicago you definitely should try them out.
What music is on your iPOD right now? Jet, I absolutely love their sound. I especially love the song, "Stand Up", its so empowering. Etta James, "At Last", hands down my favorite song of all time. Whenever I hear it, it gives me goose bumps. Cold War Kids, "Hang Me Out To Dry", their music is so random and unique. I love it! Oh and of course Maroon 5's Songs About Jane. "Secret", is my absolute favorite. It's such a sexy song.
What do you buy at the newsstand? Vogue (American and French), WWD, Elle, V Magazine. I actually have a problem with throwing them away. I always use them for references, plus I am really weird about testing myself on them to see if I can identify all the brands, ads etc.
Where do you go to stock up on great, inexpensive items? H&M. You can really buy some great pieces there. When I want to get more for my dollar, I definitely head here.
If you had $..1000 to blow on any one item for Fall what would it be? Ooooooh, I would definitely get the Yves Saint Laurent's Trooper ankle boots. I know they're a slightly awkward boot but I am in love with them. They are slightly over $1000 but I still want them.
What item in your wardrobe do you rely on during the Fall? Well, I know this may sound slightly strange but my black turtleneck is a big staple for me for fall. I love how they seem to make an outfit look more sophisticate. I have so many of the same turleneck its kind of ridiculous. I usually pair them with a pair of skinny jeans and boots or with a skirt and tights. They're so versatile and warm.
