GUCCI FALL 2008 RUNWAY/CAMPAIGN

Gucci’s fall RTW collection definitely came out with vengeance. Designed by Frida Giannini, who has been Creative Director for Gucci for a few years now, is showing that she’s not going anywhere. This line is simply stunning, with so many mixtures of textures and prints elegantly translated through tailored fits and perfectly placed accessories. This line definitely has a nouveau hippie with a mix of Russian appeal. Not to forget the traffic stopping footwear that includes all the bells and whistles. I’m definitely ready to see what her Spring collection will hold, but until then I can say that the fall 08 line has pleasantly satisfied.

Credit: imgmodels.com
Lately I've come across some amazing black and white pictures. They've really inspired me so I figured I'd share!!

Summer's Ending!!!

This has been one of the best summers in a long time. My sister's birthday recently passed so we celebrated her b.day with a few outtings, which I always enjoy. Now the summer is winding down and life is slowing getting back to normal. I'm ready for things to pick back up. I'm ready to start interning/working this fall. Sorry I've been a little slow posting I've just been enjoying spending time with family and friend before we're all too busy.
Thank you all for your kind comments, sorry I haven't thank you all sooner!!

My New Necklace From Bogalousa!!

Yeah, I received my new necklace yesterday. My eyes opened so wide as the mail man delivered a lace wrapped little box. "Is this for me," I ask already knowing the answer. So I took the box inside, sat down and proceeded to open the beautifully wrapped package. As I unwrapped it there was an adorable box waiting for me to open it. Finally I pull off the lid to unveil a colorful array of confetti and trinkets. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I then scrounge through the box which included stationary cards, candy, and alas my necklace. Finally I reached my goal and the necklace is now mine. I pulled the arachnid clad jewelry from its hiding. It includes multiple chains cradling a metal spider created by Bogalousa. I love it so much. I can't believe we found each other. She makes the most amazing pieces at very inexpensive prices. They were made by Jess whose store, Bogalousa, host very creative one-of-a-kind jewelry. She is so sweat and kind so I had to share my new find with you all.

Here are a few pieces that she has made. Keep in mind that some of these items have already sold and were one-of-a-kind. So if you see something you like get it now before its gone. I, on the other hand, snatched up this piece the moment I saw it because I loved it so much. Many of her creations are from reinvented vintage and natural materials. They are so amazing!!

Out To Lunch!!

Today was a good day. The weather is nice, I got a few packages I had been waiting for plus I spent time with my favorite ladies, my sisters. Although we spend a lot of time together I never get tired of being with them. We are so different but so much alike, if that makes sense. So we grabbed a little breakfast and did a little shopping. Which I needed, seeing as I've been on a shopping break for the last past month or so. Plus I received a package in the mail from this amazing jewelry maker so I will be posting pics tomorrow.

Sorry I haven't been posting or responding as often as I would like. My hands have been cramping lately so I've been limiting my computer use, forgive me.

I hope you all had a good week and I hope your weekends are so much better.

P.S. I finally managed to smile in this picture. Although I feel like I look a little ridiculous, I like that it shows my happy side. :)

Fall 2008 Denim Review

Recently rumbling through my closet I was a little shocked at the amount of jeans I have. Its terribly crowded with jeans I don't wear. And the bad thing is when you have a favorite brand whose fit you trust you seem to gravitate towards those favorites vs. the other pairs you may have. So in my quest to update my closet I decided to pick out a few of favorites from fall 08' and bring you some designers whom I love to wear.

Hudson Jeans

They have a wide variety of jeans with the best fit. I especially love their wideleg jeans, so much so, that I purchased them in dark and light rinses. They also carry skinny jeans with a perfect fit. My favorities are the wideleg jeans in BRT.

J Brand Jeans

One of my newest favorite designers. They have a way of making their jeans fit so perfectly without feeling uncomfortable. My favorite styles from them so far is the Lovestory ,the Doll, and the Joplin.

Paige Premium Denim

An old favorite of mine. Her styles, which are appropriately named for California locations are a also very comfy. Her designs, I believe, are tailored for a more sophisticate fit for older and younger women. Palisades (which I am wearing) have an amazing look, I adore the wideleg and drawstring.

Rock & Republic

Their jeans are designed with really leggy people in mind. With most jeans featuring a 36 in. or longer inseam they definitely cater to more statuesque wearers not like myself. I am 5'6 but they're a good length for wearing heels. My favorites are Kasandra and the limited edition VB crowns.

Taverniti SO

Ohhh, I love their jeans. The designs, the craftsmanship, the subtle details makes them perfect. I my favorite style is the Courtney, with the military patch in the back. Although they're jeans do not have much stretch, they fit so well. They are definitely more of an edgier jeans.

True Religion

Well, I'm sure many of you readers are fan of True Religion jeans. They are known for their horseshoe pockets and twisted inseams. Although recently TR has tried to change the look of their jeans I prefer the original look. My favorite jeans are the Joey and Johnny styles, especially the Super T version.

All the brands above can be found at http://www.revolveclothing.com/. There are other designers whom I love as well. Seven for all Mankind has really great jeans, I really love their Ginger style and their A pockets. Ksubi/Tsubi has the best skinny jeans, which are perfect for fall. Grey Ant I have found through a recent purchase of mine have really great high waisted denim jeans. William Rast and Acne, which are those of the few denim designers who's jeans I've never purchased or even tried on but I've heard they have a really great fit. Sass and Bide, also another great designer of skinny jeans, I love thier Hulsey jeans amazing fit. I am always looking out for new great denim designer so if you know of any feel free to let me know or if you have any questions about any designers or would like to me to recommend other designers feel free to ask!!

Black Out......

Well, last night very interesting events occurred. While I was editing my photos for my denim post there was a power outage due to the severe thunderstorm twiddling around outside. Even though the storm left my house pitch black, (which hundreds of candles brought dim light) the night was a quite memorable. I managed to win a few games of candlelit dominoes, sang an awful array of songs with my sister and "little brother" and even managed to play a few rounds of the humming game. I also tried a little photography with the pictures above which where taken in front of my house and from my speckled candle. Yes, I guess it was a pretty memorable evening. Maybe there should be power outages more often, without the lightening or thunder of course.
