Well, in my quest to find the perfect pair of sunnies, I found myself wanting just a little bit more. So after looking through countless runways, magazines, boutiques, blogs......well you get the picture, I searched a lot. I found myself at the mercy of a pair I would never have thought to try. The nerd-esque glasses. What glasses you ask.........the nerdy glasses. Apparently the spectacles once donned by Steve Urkel himself have cast they're spell on me. Yes they're a little corky but its okay to step outside of the box. I, myself am in search of every pair in every color I could find. I know this look isn't for everyone but I thought I'd give it a try.
In my relentless pursuit of these demure frames, I have come to find that I am not the only fan. Most famously Luella's Spring 08 runway featured models wearing the oversize frames, follow by Marc Jacobs Spring 08 runway and lastly Michael Kors fall 08's runway. I also came across some magazine scan that were provided by livingdoll on FC, that I haplessly fell in love with and purchased both pair as seen in the pics and am anxiously awaiting their delivery.
Pictured, I am wearing vintage oversized frames. The turtleneck, skirt and beaded belt are vintage. The shoes are Report Signature and the bag is Chloe.

I've never been one to wear nerdy glasses, I think people would just assume that I'm a nerd, not that I just want to dress like it, heh.

Its so funny, my mom really dislikes them. When she first saw me with them she said, "you aren't going to wear those are you." I laughed and responded yes. I really love them though, to my surprise. Thanks for the comments, your so nice!!
Haha, my mom disapproves of everything I wear.. She says I'm trying to "grow up to quickly" by dressing the way I do, to which I reply "Really mum? I was unaware that dressing well is not something teenagers do!" Also, I think I'd like to marry you.. GLADIATOR SANDALS HERE I COME AHHH!
Haha, I guess she just wants you to stay her little girl for as long as possible. They never really stop, at least my mom didn't. I thought you would like their gladiators, they have so many. I have the patent black knee high ones they sell. Loves them!!

You look so good with the glasses, resembles the whole vibe as seen on the runways. I find it hard to find frames that compliment my face, sucks.
Laurel you are such a sweetheart as always. I made sure to vote today, yeah!! These glasses have been just lying around my house for so long no specific brand labeled. The two pair from the Nylon ads I actually ordered in white and black I purchased on ebay. They are clear wayfarer glasses and were $8 a piece shipping included. Love them!!

I love the nerd glasses on the girl in Nylon magazine and at Luella.
I loooove glasses for dress-up. I have some Gucci tortoise frames with no prescription that I wear just for fun. These oversize ones are really fetch!
